The étang du Tronc du Chêne, a former gravel pit typical of the Nancy basin, spans 18 hectares of calm, deep waters – perfect for high-quality carp fishing in a tranquil setting. With an average depth of 4 meters, reaching up to 6 meters, this exceptional destination welcomes anglers all year round for sessions starting at 48 hours.
The étang du Tronc du Chêne is renowned for its deep respect for nature and biodiversity. Its fish stock is truly impressive: 900 to 1,000 carp over 9 kg, with an average weight above 17 kg. Several trophy carp surpass 30 kg, including a recent 2024 record with a mirror carp weighing 34.8 kg. Pike, black bass, roach, and tench also thrive here, making the pond’s ecosystem exceptionally rich and diverse – a paradise for all anglers.
To ensure top-quality fishing experiences, Cap-Nature has a unique system: each spot at the étang du Tronc du Chêne is reserved 24 hours before and after a session. This carefully managed approach reduces fishing pressure and guarantees the best possible conditions for every angler.

You’ll find these eco-friendly facilities conveniently placed between spots 11 and 12, and between spots 19 and 1. Simple, sustainable, and regularly maintained, they ensure every guest can enjoy their stay comfortably while preserving the tranquility and cleanliness of the étang du Tronc du Chêne.
The étang du Tronc du Chêne offers 19 fishing spots, with a maximum of 15 in use at any one time. This system ensures that every angler enjoys optimal comfort, with plenty of space and privacy between fishing areas.
Certain fishing spots at the étang du Tronc du Chêne are automatically blocked based on their layout, including pairs 7 and 8, 10 and 13, and 11 and 12. Furthermore, depending on the number of anglers at spot 19, spot 1 may also be temporarily closed to ensure optimal space and comfort.
Most fishing spots at the étang du Tronc du Chêne can accommodate up to two anglers. Spot 18 is reserved for a single angler, while spot 7 also allows a maximum of two. Each spot can welcome up to two companions, with children under 11 admitted free of charge. For children over 11 and adults, the fee is €10 per night. Anglers can also add an extra rod for €10 per night. For those seeking complete privacy, full privatization of the étang du Tronc du Chêne is available on request.
By coming to fish on the lake, anglers accept the following rules of procedure. Photographs taken on site may be used by the owners of the site (unless the angler requests otherwise when fishing). The owners are authorized to carry out random checks to verify compliance with the rules. An increased surveillance is made on the venue and the owners can exclude people who do not respect the rules. GoCarp and the owners of the lake are not responsible for any incident on the site (accidents, thefts...).
Note: To prevent the fish at Cap-Nature from developing a feeding routine, bait boats are permitted only on even and odd weeks. Usage is allowed from Monday at 12:00 PM to Sunday at 12:00 PM.
