Access to Étang du Camalo is subject to acceptance of the site rules. Each visitor must check in at the reception and pay for their session before settling at their swim. External visitors are not allowed, and only accompanying persons and pets (1 per swim, on a leash) are permitted. Guests are also asked to take all trash with them and to use the provided ashtrays for cigarette butts.
For safety and respect, swimming and ground fires are prohibited, although barbecues on stands are allowed. Vehicles must be returned to the parking area after unloading equipment and cannot be driven around the site during the session. Excessive alcohol consumption and drug use are strictly forbidden. The rules also state that any photos taken on-site may be published by Nauticarp unless the angler requests otherwise.
Rules of fishing
Fishing at Étang du Camalo is strictly No-Kill, with a maximum of 3 rods per angler. Bait boats are allowed but must stay within the boundaries of each swim. Each occupied swim must be constantly monitored whenever rods are in action.
To preserve the pond’s natural balance, leftover bait must not be left on the banks or in the water, and predator fishing is strictly prohibited. All fish must be handled carefully at knee height on a well-humidified landing mat, never on the bank. Grass carp (amours blancs) must remain in the water, and all photos should be taken crouching close to the mat.
Bite alarms must be used discreetly so as not to disturb other anglers, and entering the water to bait or adjust rigs is strictly prohibited. Tiger nuts and other peanuts are banned, and the cooking of other baits may be checked on-site.
Mandatory equipment
Each angler must have a large landing mat (minimum 1.10 m) and a large, fine-mesh landing net (minimum 1.10 m). Waders or chest-high boots are required for handling fish in the water. Hooks must be single, and a fish care kit is mandatory to treat any injuries. Only kaki-colored bivvies and umbrellas are allowed to ensure discreet integration with the natural surroundings.
Prohibited Equipment
Zodiacs, rowboats, and other boats are strictly prohibited, as are rigs that prevent the fish from freeing itself. Keep nets are forbidden at all times, both day and night, including in vehicles. Braided mainlines, leaders, and coated braid leaders are not allowed (fluorocarbon and nylon only). Additionally, boilie cannons and camping-style shelters are strictly prohibited.
The Camalo Pond, part of Nauticarp, is a unique carp fishing destination where anglers can target record-size carp in an environment designed for unforgettable experiences, all while respecting nature and the fish.
