Carp fishing enthusiasts, discover L’étang de la Crolée Haut in Deux-Sèvres (79), near Niort and Poitiers. Situated on a private 16-hectare (approximately 39.5 acres) estate, surrounded by greenery and fully enclosed, this 2.5-hectare (approximately 6.2 acres) lake offers peaceful and immersive experiences in the heart of nature. Bordering a 4-hectare (approximately 9.9 acres) forest, L’étang de la Crolée Haut features a single swim, ideal for one, two, or three anglers, providing ample space to explore different fishing zones.
With a maximum depth of 4 metres (approximately 13 ft) and a clay, silt, and sand bottom, the lake is designed for unforgettable carp fishing sessions. On the swim, a 35 m² (approximately 377 sq ft) Safari Lodge tent with a 20 m² (approximately 215 sq ft) covered terrace is available to rent, offering full comfort with three bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private bathroom. For purists, a space is also available to set up a bivvy. A sanitary block is accessible to anglers, and a boat is provided, along with 25 kg (approximately 55 lbs) of Particles Flakes for baiting. This site, where No-Kill fishing is a priority, is part of the three lakes at the Chateliers Carp estate, along with L’étang de la Crolée Bas and L’étang des Chateliers.
House Rules
Stay duration: Sessions run from Saturday (arrival between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM) to the following Saturday (departure between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM).
Reservations : Booking is mandatory two months in advance with a 50% deposit. No refunds for cancellations made less than one month before arrival.
Parking : Vehicles must be parked in the designated car park (the estate accepts no responsibility in case of theft).
Pets Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a lead.
Cleanliness Sanitary facilities are available and must be kept clean. Swimming, washing dishes in the lake, and damaging vegetation are strictly prohibited.
Respect and Discretion : The tranquillity of the site must be maintained by keeping noise to a minimum. Rubbish must be disposed of in bins located at the car park. A €50 (£45) security deposit will be requested upon arrival and refunded after inspection of the swim.
Responsibility : Anglers are responsible for any damage caused on the site and fish at their own risk.
Rules of fishing
Fishing type: Strictly No-Kill fishing, with a maximum of three rods per angler.
Fishing zones : Fishing is limited to the reserved swim; fishing at other swims is prohibited.
Allowed equipment : : Commercial boilies (meeting French health standards) and homemade boilies, cooked seeds (peanuts prohibited). Bait boats and bait rockets are permitted.
Fish Handling : Fish must be returned to the water immediately after photographing (preferably in the water or kneeling over the landing mat). Keepnets are strictly prohibited, but a floating sling is provided.
